The WorldPride Madrid 2017 starts with the expectation of attracting more than 2 millions of people
EDITORIAL GAYLES.TV.- The great global LGTBI Pride party is here, tomorrow the WorldPride Madrid 2017 which will be held in the district of Chueca and in some of the main enclaves of the capital with all kinds of events: outdoor concerts, festivals, art, exhibitions, culture, sports and not what is expected will be the biggest manifestation of the Pride that has been celebrated so far. A great international meeting in which to celebrate, discuss and show the world the values of diversity.
In this way, the Pride becomes a perfect blend of vindication and celebration that counts on the involvement of all citizens to show the world an active, participatory and supportive city with the values of World Pride.
The WorldPride will be developed in 5 main scenarios located in the plaza de Pedro Zerolo, Plaza del Rey, Plaza de España, Puerta del Sol and Puerta de Alcalá, to which must be added the Pelayo street where various activities such as the traditional Tacones Race will be held. The program of activities, performances and concerts is really impressive, some of the artists who will parade through the different stages are: Ana Torroja, Azucar Moreno, Baccara, Camela, Conchita Wurst, Kate Ryan, Marta Sánchez, Nuria Fergó, OBK, Olé Olé, Rebeca, Ruth Lorenzo... the list would be endless.
The stage of the King's Square will once again be the seat of the Cultural Festival Shows T, while the square of Pedro Zerolo will become the stage of the WorldPride Cabaret and Puerta del Sol will host the Gala Mr. Gay Pride Spain. Finally in the Puerta de Alcalá the WorldPride witness will be presented to the city of New York which will be the host city in 2019 coinciding with the 50 anniversary of Stonewall.
In the context of WorldPride 2017, the FELGTB presents the exhibition "Subversivas, 40 years of LGTB activism in Spain" that will take place between June 15 and October 1 at CentroCentro, Palacio de Cibeles. The sample includes the celebration of the four decades that have elapsed since the first LGTB demonstration in Spain on the Ramblas of Barcelona. 40 years of vindication for the rights of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals. An ambitious exhibition that marks a milestone in the history of the LGTB movement by recognizing and focusing on the important social and historical legacy of the struggle for collective equality.
An important fact to take into account is the collaboration of hundreds of volunteers who will contribute to the proper functioning of WorldPride. This volunteer will be identified according to its functions with the different colors of the rainbow flag: orange will facilitate the reception, green will be environmental volunteering, blue will support the organization of the human rights conference, yellow volunteer will be will take care of the manifestation of the World Pride, the purple of the Day Fair in Pride Park and finally the red volunteer will participate in the production of events and shows.
And all this will culminate with the gigantic demonstration and parade of floats that will start from Atocha and will go to Columbus on Saturday 1 of July at 17 hours crossing one of the main arteries of Madrid. The forecast for this year 2017 assistance is 2 million people.
