Russia homophobia Gayles.tv Russia, one of lime and one of sand

GAYLES.TV.- These days, information has circulated about the Russian Parliament's rejection of the bill that proposed to punish the exhibition of homosexuality with high fines and even prison terms. Specifically, they positioned themselves against Constitutional Legislation Committees of the Duma and the Senate, recommending to the deputies that they vote against a bill presented by the Communist Party.

Seen this way, things are positive and would have no more repercussion than the contradiction that it supposes to occur in Russia, where so many headaches are bringing the law passed in 2013 that prohibits homosexual propaganda to minors, which is as much as saying any kind of apology for homosexuality in any field.

What draws attention in this issue is the virulence shown by its author, the communist Ivan Nikitchuk who appeared at the meeting of the Duma committee with a folder under his arm full of petitions signed by communist voters who advocate punishing even more harshly the exhibition of homosexuality.

In his appearance Nikitchuk (who by the way has a Pokemon name but is less funny), he let go a few pearls that place him in the lead for the title of mad homophobe of the year, here are some:

  • "Homosexuality is a contagious disease comparable to drug dependence and alcoholism "
  • "Its expansion threatens the whole society with the extinction"
  • "Where homosexuality spreads with the help of propaganda, it follows pedophilia, despite all the attempts of homosexuals to hide it "
  • "We are in Russia and here we have something of shame. Is nauseating to see all those bearded men who embrace"

Ivan Nikitchuk demonstrates with these statements to be an ignorant and hysterical apocalyptic who, most likely, will torture gay fantasies to a greater extent than he would be willing to acknowledge. The putada (with pardon) is that what this acorn animal asked was that they apply fines of up to 5.000 rubles, the equivalent of about 58 € just for showing "a non-traditional sexual orientation in public places" and Arrests up to 15 days for whoever did it in educational centers. Little joke.

In the face of the general booing of LGTBI groups, Nikitchik and the co-author of the project, the also communist deputy Nikolai Aréfiev, argue in their defense that previously in the Soviet Union sodomy was punishable by long prison sentences and that their proposal is much more benign. Say thank you very much, what a big heart Ivan and his colleague Nikolai have! I would like to see them through a hole, imagining together the punishments they would like to apply to gays caught in flagrante delicto. Think wrong and be right.
