"Every operation of sex change, as a general rule, runs the risk of attacking the unique dignity that the person has received from the moment of conception. This does not mean that the possibility is excluded that a person affected by genital abnormalities, which are already evident at birth or develop later, may choose to receive medical assistance in order to resolve these anomalies. In this case, the operation would not constitute a sex change in the sense understood here.", assures the Vatican in the text.
In this sense, it specifies that the human body participates in the dignity of the person, since it is “endowed with personal meanings, especially in their sexual condition (…). A text approved by the Pope, after being studied for five years
