"Rainbow Schools" is a program to prevent the marginalization of LGTBI people in schools
GAYLES.TV.- The school Turó Blau the neighborhood Sant Andreu de Barcelona will be the first to apply the Program "Rainbow Schools«. This educational project driven by LGTBI families aims to prevent homophobic behavior and marginalization of people LGTBI and their families in schools.
We want to promote knowledge about the diversity LGTBI in the teaching staff and students to prevent discrimination. The objective is to avoid cases of homophobia in all its expressions: insults and humiliations, physical attacks, stereotypes, social and labor marginalization, health problems, etc ... For this, schools will be provided with the necessary tools to enhance attitudes of respect and integration of affective sexual and family diversity as well as the normalized acceptance of all kinds of sexual and affective diversity, gender identity and of the different family models.

Safe and free schools of LGTBIfobia
The idea that schools are a safe place to LGBTophobia for all boys and girls. In this sense, the program places special emphasis on training teachers through the development of classroom materials for different educational levels. In addition, didactic proposals are made and support is given during the two years of implementation of the project. Advice is also given regarding the internal documentation of the courses to make it more inclusive and neutral. Thus a new look at affective and sexual diversity is achieved. «Rainbow Schools»Is inspired by the English program«Educate & Celebrate", lead by Elly Barnes with great success for more than 10 years.
Professionals of LGTBI families They will train teachers, boards of directors and non-teaching staff of the centers and will help teachers to include didactic materials (like books or movies) in their classes, whatever the subject. There will also be workshops and a storyteller and several books that will remain in the school. The involvement of the school is fundamental and also acquires the commitment to reach a minimum in the application of actions to achieve a safe environment for diversity and thus achieve being a «Rainbow School«.
