For the first time a baby is born in the womb of both mothers

GAYLES.TV.-  Stetson He is a beautiful baby who will go down in history because he was in the womb of his two mothers. And is that for the first time a lesbian couple shares the gestation of their son. The little one was born with 3'700 kg and without any kind of health problem.

The delivery was in June but their mothers have wanted to let a time pass before making the news public. Bliss and Ashleigh Coulter, residents of Mountain Springs, North Texas, underwent a treatment called Effortless Reciprocal IVF (reciprocal in vitro fertilization without effort, better known by the acronym IVC or INVO). This type of treatment has been used since 1987 but until now it had only been applied to heterosexual couples.

In the usual process, a fertilized egg is deposited in an incubator, in a device similar to a bottle cap, the same as that used in the laboratory, but here it is placed in the uterus, which performs functions similar to the incubator.

As explained to the newspaper USA Today Dr. Kathy Doody, "Since embryos do not have developed organs, that is, kidneys, liver, or lungs, these functions are performed by the electromechanical apparatus of the incubator in order to eliminate toxins and keep the embryo in a suitable environment for development." But in this case, an egg from Bliss, 36, was fertilized in the laboratory with sperm from an anonymous donor and then implanted in her uterus inside a sealed plastic device. During the first five days, incubation occurred thanks to this intravaginal culture technique. Once the egg was fertilized, the embryo was removed from Bliss's body and implanted in the uterus of Ashleigh, her 28-year-old partner, who carried the pregnancy for nine months.

Not surprisingly, added Dr. Doody, “the human body is the perfect incubator. And in this case, the first try it worked. We have liver, lungs, kidneys, so we can provide those services to the embryo in a natural way. It seemed impossible, but it happened.

The couple have two other frozen Bliss embryos that could be used when they decide for Stetson to have siblings. They could also do the same with an Ashleigh embryo so that their genes are present in the offspring, since for their first child they have been only those of Bliss.

A new barrier in the scientific field that has been destroyed by the love of this American girl couple. Congratulations family!
