«Piece of fag» the insult to Miguel Poveda

«I want to express my complaint and my complaint to Mr. Antonio Benítez, president of the Peña Flamenca Enrique el Mellizo and in charge of the Flamenco Thursdays of Cádiz. This "gentleman" made several calls to my personal telephone number to hire me, as I could not attend him due to professional commitments in Istanbul, rehearsals with the bailaor Kojima for his show in Jerez and my participation in the tribute to Curro Romero, in addition to my tasks Personal as a father, I entrusted Mr. Rafa Coto, my manager and co-worker, to attend to Mr. Benitez.

Apparently he wanted to hire me to sing in Cádiz and Mr. Coto communicated with all the education that characterizes him that was not possible this year, since we had just been 5 nights the Gran Teatro Falla and it would be later when we returned to the city.

The refusal of not being able to go for reasons of dates seemed so bad that he called me again, this time to leave a voice message insulting Mr. Coto calling him a "ghost" and me a "piece of fagot." This audio is recorded to present it in front of a judge when appropriate, but I believe that this type of «characters» cannot represent the world of flamenco, not even from a peña or a festival. To all the directors of said Peña and thanking that in their day they granted me the title of honorary member, and going to sing at that event, I am sorry to tell you that with all the pain in my heart I will not belong to a peña in which Its president makes homophobic insults for not being able to be in his festival, it is not acceptable that in the XXI century this type of insults are made that dirty the image of flamenco and hinder the path to tolerance, I have a very high degree of respect and love for Cádiz and flamenco and from here I denounce the attitude of this «human being».
