NEWS.- Zoom in, get the glasses "from the fence" and if you need a magnifying glass, but don't stop reading the text of the photograph because it has no waste. It is part of the content of the book of "Biology and Geology" distributed by the publishing house SM (Marianist Society) for students of 3º of ESO of some concerted centers that have requested it. Specifically, it is an attached booklet that, under the title of "Sexuality, Life and Health", indoctrinates students between 14 and 15 years on which sexual orientations and practices are or not convenient not only at a social level, but even for health.
In the section on homosexuality, it is explained, in relation to heterosexuality, that "they are not comparable from the point of view of health" and this statement is justified by supposed scientific studies. The text continues without any scruple clarifying that “This is due to the very nature of the homosexual relationship, which involves assuming a greater risk and is usually associated with a multiplicity of couples”. And so they link topic after topic, promiscuity, risky behaviors, anomalies and a supposed intrinsic nature that they will know what it consists of.
But when the author, or authors, of the booklet bring out his best homophobic prose, it is in speaking of heterosexuality that he says that "in the context of a stable commitment and protected by mutual love and happiness, is the way healthier sexuality (...) the most optimal environment for the education of children, where they learn to love and by nature are loved. " That is, a homosexual couple is neither stable nor lavishes mutual love and happiness and therefore the children who educate will not learn to love or be loved, of course, by nature.
The SM publishing house has published a note in which it stands out from the content, pointing out that it is not its usual editorial line and that it responds to the agreement it has with some school institutions that personalize its offer. Well, in this particular case, the text has been prepared by the Department of Preventive Medicine of the University of Navarra and the aforementioned University is clearly linked to Opus Dei and was founded and promoted directly by Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer in 1952.
It is not necessary to remember that Opus Dei has been classified as a sect by different institutions, but in this country it has a legal entity and a legal responsibility. We therefore believe that it is not enough to sign petitions (something you can do here) so that the text is removed from the sale and distribution.
