Barcelona hosts the 6th edition of Miss Trans Star International
Gayles.tv.- Barcelona hosts for the sixth consecutive year the most important beauty contest of transsexual women in the world, "Miss Trans Star International". The galas will be held in the Auditorium of Cornellà (Barcelona) Friday 16 and Saturday 17 of September. This is the culmination of an intense week of parades, photo and image sessions, visits to emblematic sites and forums for debate and training that will take place within the framework of the "Trans Days".
The call brings together representatives of 30 countries competing for the crown of Miss Trans. Participants will parade in three modalities: bathing suit, gala dress and regional dress, following the rules of international beauty contests. They will also be awarded a second and third prize in addition to recognizing the best regional dress, best gala dress or the election of Miss sympathy among others.
The contest is considered as the main objective to give greater visibility to the transgender collective around the world, offering a positive image and showing the human diversity of the collective to contribute in this way to fight against the prejudices, stereotypes and discrimination that transsexual people continue to suffer today. In this sense, it is worth highlighting as a novelty in this edition the participation of countries in which the transsexual community is especially vulnerable due to its social and political situation. It would be the case of Turkey, Nigeria, Israel or Sri Lanka.
The list of participating countries is completed with Brazil, the Philippines, Spain, Ecuador, Panama, Egypt, Paraguay, Uruguay, Portugal, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, USA, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Slovakia, Argentina , Curaçao, Chile, Venezuela, Colombia, Holan
da and Serbia.
The contest was founded in the year 2010 by the recognized trans star Thara Wells, maximum reference of the transsexual collective in Barcelona. In these six years Miss Trans International has received the support of entities and public figures such as the bailaor Rafael Amargo, the television presenter Jorge Javier Vazquez or the miss Spain Andrea Huisgen, among others.
Among the collaborating companies is Facial Team, an international group of surgeons with an integrative and highly specialized approach in Facial Feminization Surgery, who will be part of the jury. As well as Barcelona Laser Institute, specialized in laser cosmetic surgery and Kamol Hospital, specialist in sex reassignment surgery.
