LAST HOUR.- The Proposition of Law of Transexuality raised by the Parliamentary Groups of PSOE, Podemos and Ciudadanos of the Assembly of Madrid, has managed to pass the vote and impose itself with an amendment to the totality of the three groups of the opposition to the project presented by the executive of Cristina Cifuentes.
The text proposes mechanisms to avoid discrimination against this group. It contains measures in various fields with special relevance in the area of education. At the moment, curricular contents on respect for diversity and gender identity will be included, contemplating the possibility of uniting in a subject in the future.
In its sanitary aspects, the Law Proposal provides for the guarantee of access to the semen and ovum banks by transsexual persons as well as the techniques of assisted reproduction and freezing of reproductive cells and gonadal tissue for possible future recoveries.
They emphasize measures such as the creation of a DNI of a transitory nature while carrying out the processes of sex change. The law deepens in a special way in everything related to the rights of transgender children.
Finally, in its punitive aspect, the amount of administrative sanctions has been set for cases in which discriminatory behaviors against transsexual persons are proven.
The parliamentary representative of Podemos Beatriz Gimeno it has defended the “right to be as it is”, affirming that “the expression of human diversity cannot be penalized with the absence of rights or discrimination”. Emotional has also been the intervention of the PSOE parliamentarian Carla Antonelli that, after an emotional memory of Pedro Zerolo has declared that "Transsexuality continues to be a great unknown for a large sector of the population and the prejudices and stigmas associated with pathologies only increase the existing discrimination."
