The first comic compilation of the experiences of Ana, a lesbian woman who humorously analyzes her daily life as an LGTBI person
GAYLES.TV.- LSB, Ana THE LESBICÓMIC! is a bilingual compilation, in Basque and Spanish, of a comic by Teresa Castro that approaches from the humor the circumstances of its life like lesbian. Ana, who is the central character, tackles LGTBI issues such as closure, transsexuality, sexually transmitted infections, bisexuality, protection against HIV, the pursuit of true love or the still present social rejection. And all this does from the irony and showing a reality doubly invisible as a woman and as a lesbian.
The format is easy to read and aims to bring the lesbian reality closer to society, but especially young lesbians and adolescents who do not have positive referents nearby that allow them to develop without trauma or concealment. It is a question of offering a counterpoint to the tortuous profiles that usually present the cinema and literature as belonging to lesbian women.
The publication will be distributed free of charge and aims to be a support tool in the workshops on sexual diversity and gender that develops Gehitu, the Association of Gais, Lesbians, Bisexuals and Transsexuals of the Basque Country, in educational centers and sports and leisure schools in the Basque Country. Likewise, it will be made available to the LGTBI associations that work in Latin America in digital format and it aims to translate it into English, French, German, Catalan, Galician, etc ... in order to achieve maximum dissemination of an unusual topic in a very accessible format.
In order to take forward this project, a crowdfunding campaign whose main objective is the edition of 2.500 copies.
In the case of obtaining the optimum budget, one would move to a second phase that involves coloring and remaking the oldest comic strips that were edited in black and white.
The idea is to make available to all the population, NGOs and interested entities, the digital edition in different languages for free. And send the material to the broad directory of associations and LGTBI groups both national and Latin America and Europe working on sexual and gender diversity, so that they have this fantastic additional material in their workshops and projects.
