This week, we have accepted the We Can Propose Law on LGTBI Equality Law

GAYLES.TV.- The rights of gays, lesbians, transsexuals, bisexuals and transgender, that is, those of more than 4 million people in the Spanish State are in the process of becoming equal to the rest of the population thanks to the admission to processing of the proposal of Law of Equality LGTBI of the FELGTB posed by Podemos.

The parliamentary debate and the reactions of various groups such as the position of the PP that, through its spokesman, Marta González, described the text of "Awkward and clumsy" and announced an amendment to the whole and an alternative text, have been widely commented on in other media. For this reason, we have considered it opportune to report here today the most controversial points of the aforementioned Law.

LGTBI Public in the gallery of the Congress of Deputies

  • Gender ideology in the classroom. Education centers are required to include "content on sexual, gender and family diversity in subjects such as Knowledge of the Environment in primary education or the LGTBI movement in History, in secondary school."
  • Hormonal treatments from puberty. "As of puberty, minors can provide informed consent by themselves to access hormonal blockers and cross-hormone treatment."
  • Reassignment of sex. Both autonomous communities and the General Administration of the State, "will ensure the eradication of sex reassignment practices in newborns."
  • Unisex spaces. «The necessary measures will be taken so that the spaces identified according to sex in centers for minors, sheltered apartments, centers for the care of the disabled and residences for the elderly, can be used by transsexuals, transgender and intersex people in attention to gender sense".
  • The bill also states that "students have right to externalize at school their gender identity, having to respect their physical image, the choice of their clothing and the access and use of the facilities of the center according to their gender sense ".
  • A new state agency. The "State Agency against discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sexual characteristics" will be created. It will be responsible for "the inspection, instruction, resolution and execution of the sanctioning files of the infractions contained in the law".
  • Fines of up to 45.000 euros for therapies to reverse sexual orientation. The text presented by Podemos specifically states that "therapies that seek to reverse the sexual orientation or gender identity of the person, even with the consent of the same or their legal representatives are prohibited." According to the bill it is a serious infringement with fines that can go from the 22.000 to the 45.000 euros.
  • Creation of the National Center for LGTBI Historical Memory. Its objective will be to promote "LGTBI visibility in the public space" and guarantee "the existence of a bibliographic fund on LGTBI issues, obligatory in populations of more than 20.000 inhabitants". Among his tasks also figure "the placement of momumentos and denomination of streets".
  • LGTBI contents in the programming of television networks. The Administration and the Communities "will promote in all public media and those who receive public subsidies must broadcast content that contributes to a perception of the collective exempt from stereotypes and the dissemination of the needs of LGBT people." In addition, the bill proposes to ensure that the media "include in their programming, for all age groups, the diversity of sexual orientation and gender including LGTBI family diversity."

We have preferred to limit ourselves to transcribing the most controversial points without going into considerations of their legitimacy, simply because they seem to us to be absolutely reasonable and justified in spite of the fact that Rafael Hernando (PP) before the vote, strike the Law of "Delirious, interventionist and stigmatizing".

Draw your own conclusions.
