EDITORIAL.- ALL OUT It is a platform that mobilizes millions of people around the world through, basically, social networks and the collection of signatures. In this way, they have been able to send petitions to world leaders and organizations with the intention of transforming the reality of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals, to end discriminatory laws, change the attitude of people around the world in relation to the different options and, finally, provide resources to activists who risk their lives on a daily basis to defend the right to love freely.
Changing the laws of a country in order to allow same-sex marriage or adopting children or, in the end, overcoming any kind of legal obstacle in the way of equality, is very good and absolutely necessary. But without a deep social transformation in the uses and mentalities, in how we deal with the small details of everyday life, the laws only involve a layer of varnish that cracks when the storm of homophobia rages.
That's why it's very important to achieve achievements like the one achieved by ALL OUT this week, have Google make corrections to eliminate homophobic insults from its translation tools. If we consider that more than 500 millions of people use the Google Translator every month, it matters a lot when you want to translate the word gay or lesbian do not find in the translation the terms fagot, ladybug, fagot or tortillera.
