"Pigalle People": the trans community captured by Jane Evelyn Atwood
GAYLES.TV.- At the end of the 70 years, the photographer Jane Evelyn Atwood portrayed the life of the trans Parisian community. Born in New York at 1947, she was always interested in marginal themes and black and white portraits. Soon he moved to Paris and began to experiment with the camera portraying the prostitutes of the Rue des Lombards. In 1978 he documented the trans community of Pigalle, especially those people who were engaged in sex work.
