Marching head MADO 2018

The march went through the route without notable incidents, in a playful and festive atmosphere as usual and with the presence of slogans and protest signs on different issues that affect the LGBTI community.

Note the absence of the president of the Community of Madrid, Angel Garrido at the head of the march after both the organizers of the Pride, and those responsible for various entities such as the Collective of Lesbians, Gays, Transsexuals and Bisexuals of Madrid (COGAM) and the State Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Transsexuals and Bisexuals (FELGTB)decided to keep their "No invitation" to this year's demonstration both the Popular Party and the regional executive, for what they consider a flagrant breach of the "Law of equal treatment LGTBI" and the "Comprehensive law of transsexuality«. It has been possible to see the councilors of the regional Executive at the demonstration Jaime de lo Santos (Culture) and Lola Moreno (Social politics).

The City Council of Madrid has participated in the head of the march, responsible for the Government Area of Gender and Diversity Policies, Celia Mayer. Of course, the mayor of Madrid did not want to miss, Manuela Carmena who, next to Heap, has received the participants of the demonstration on a stage set up in Colón.

Other prominent personalities who have participated in the march: the leader of Ciudadanos, Albert Rivera, together with the spokesperson in the Assembly, Ignacio Aguado, and the spokeswoman at City Hall, Begoña Villacís. Also on behalf of the PSOE in Madrid have attended the spokesman of the Socialists in the Assembly, Ángel Gabilondo and his counterpart at City Hall, Purification Causapié. And of course, the endearing presence of the regional deputy and LGTBI activist Carla Antonelli.

On the part of Podemos, the spokesperson has appeared in the Assembly, Lorena Ruiz-Huerta and the candidate for the next regional elections, Iñigo Errejón. The trade union leaders of CCOO and UGT have also attended the meeting, Unai Sordo and Pepe Álvarez.

A second banner in the header required the "Law of LGTBI Equality and State Pact against HIV Now!", and carried by LGTBI activists and a large representation of diverse social entities: refugees and immigrants, people with disabilities, Roma, children, youth, homeless or volunteers, among others.

In short, one more year the demonstration has been a party in which there has been neither music nor dance nor the desire to share the joy of a Pride that has become the great party of the capital of Spain.
