The most provocative cinema meets in Barcelona

GAYLES.TV.- Today Friday starts in Barcelona the «International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival» that will last until the next 31 in October at the four authorized sites, two in Barcelona, one in Girona and the fourth in Terrassa. On the occasion of the 15º anniversary, the Festival has summoned film directors, actors and other professionals from Canada, Israel, India, France, Denmark, the United States and Italy, being Mexico the invited country.or this edition.

As its slogan reads, if something characterizes this festival is that it shows us the most provocative cinema that is being produced and also does so from the perspective of a constant update of the topics discussed. If last year we were surprised by situations of gender violence within the lesbian couple, this year they have exceeded the interest of the proposals: child transgender, rejection of Islamic homophobia, sexual harassment in the family environment, sexual relations between Muslim women, sadomasochism as a philosophy of life, public humiliation in the school environment and a special memory of Tom from Finland and the characters of Ralf König, always current. The finishing touch to this careful selection is the film "Mondo Homo" a cinephile review of the mythical pornographic cinema made in France in the 70 ', with very young protagonists.

Some of the titles that stand out are "Wedding dress", Marilyn Solaya (Cuba 2014), based on real events and with actors like Jorge Perugorría, who from "Strawberry and Chocolate" had not participated in any other LGTBI-themed film. The film has received several awards from the public in international festivals and in its production has collaborated the Cuban Film Institute. Another long highlight is "Pure life", Panayotis Evangelidis (Greece 2015), an overwhelming film, portrait of a young gay porn movie actor; of Cuban production. And as, "Four Moons" (Mexico 2014), the expected premiere of Sergio Tovar Velarde in which four different stories are narrated but with the common nexus of love and self-acceptance.
