Malaysia censors 24 minutes of "Bohemian Rhapsody" for including gay content
GAYLES.TV.- The premiere of «Bohemian Rhapsody«, the biopic about Freddie Mercury, is generating intense reactions. While in some countries the fever has returned Queen and the band has ranked number one on the lists of Spotify, not all are joys. In Malaysia 12 has censored scenes from the film for including gay content.
The censors in Malaysia have classified for over 18 years and have censored up 24 minutes of the movie. Among the deleted fragments is the video clip of the British band I want to break free in which the four members appear dressed in drag queens. Another one of the erased scenes is one in which Mercury he tells his fiancée Mary Austin which is bisexual, one of the key moments of the film.
