Beyond the horror of the ordeal suffered by the boy, it is worth noting the institutional neglect on the part of those who could have avoided such tragic consequences. The other attack took place in the Seville town of Castilleja de la Cuesta, where a young man was attacked on leaving the institute last Tuesday. Three men were mad at him, repeatedly calling him a fagot, spitting at him and beating him up. Apparently these facts is not the first time they happen and the boy has decided to denounce.
We hope that those responsible for the corresponding institutions will react to the constant trickle of cases of homophobic attacks that are taking place. We do not want to continue having to report aggressions when leaving schools and institutes. It's better to prevent than to cure.
