Aggression with stones in Caravaca

NEWS.- In Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia) there has been a new homophobic aggression, this time against two teenagers of 17 years. Rubén López, communication voice of FELGTB, has transmitted what happened. The events occurred when young people, a gay boy and his lesbian friend, they left the institute and three companions began to follow them by insulting them with insults of "fagot, bollera and anormales", after enduring the persecution believing that they would get tired, the boy asked them to leave them alone. It was then that the persecutors started to throw stones at them with such bad luck that one of them hit the head of the girl who fell to the ground, losing consciousness. When being harassed by some passers-by and when seeing the girl in the ground the aggressors fled scared.

The girl was taken to the emergency room by her parents, where it was ruled that she does not suffer serious internal injuries. The family is thinking about the possibility of filing a complaint. As for the boy, according to Lopez, "He did not want to contact anyone, he is scared, intimidated, humiliated and overwhelmed." Apparently at home they have no news of their orientation and on the other hand, it is not the first time that he feels harassed by his companions. At the moment none of the two young men has dared to return to the institute for fear of meeting their aggressors.

Stop-Homophobia

It is clear that the brutal aggression is compounded by the fear of harassment and vulnerability suffered by thousands of young people in this country. The previous education law contained an educational work in relation to sexual, gender and family diversity that the recent Wert Law has eliminated without providing any educational instrument against discrimination and bullying LGBT phobic school.

Responsible LGTBI groups in the area have offered to the two educational centers in Caravaca de la Cruz help to "address sexual and gender diversity", as they are responsible for education, from the director of the center to the education minister himself, who must take responsibility for what happened and take measures to resolve it.

Murcia, like the rest of the Spanish State, needs a law against LGBT phobia in line with that approved by the Catalan Parliament that protects the members of the community from the scourge of homophobia, especially in the case of minors and that will only be achieved by emphasizing education.
