NEWS.- This Monday, 6 of October, The gay marriage in 5 has been validated more States of the USA. The decision has been taken by the Supreme Court after 8 days of sessions behind closed doors, in which the amendments submitted by homophobic groups, which sought to constitutionally prohibit same-sex marriage, have been studied.
The decision affects the states of Virginia, Oklahoma, Utah, Wisconsin and Indiana and with these they are already 24 of the total of 50 that integrate the country, plus the District of Columbia, the States where the marriage is already egalitarian.
The magistrates had to assume this task because, the officials of the respective federal courts, transferred the matter to the Federal Court. This decision could have been a delay, but on the contrary has been dispatched with maximum celerity.
If the 5 States' claims were accepted, and if the 9 judges reached the conclusion that same-sex unions could not be prohibited in any of those States, that judgment would have been binding for the whole country. The resulting paradox is that the resolution of the lawsuits would have led to the automatic legalization of equal marriage at the federal level, as it is a decision of the Federal Court.
