A British legislator explains in Parliament that he is HIV positive

Lloyd Russell-Moyle, a member of the Labor Party, made an important confession last Thursday when he revealed in the British Parliament that he is HIV positive. He could be the first politician in the party to make this confession. "Today is my anniversary: 10 years ago I was diagnosed", he said, before clarifying that he is healthy and that he cannot infect his partners.

The speech was full of emotion, was not the chatter of a politician in the gallery, were the words of a man who opened his heart and spoke of fear, uncertainty, the devastation he felt to receive the news. The speech ended with a few words addressed to those who prefer to live in ignorance regarding a possible contagion: "Better to live knowing that die with fear". Lloyd's confession drew a long and heartfelt ovation from the rest of the MPs.
