The images, popularly known as "la geperudeta" (hunchback) and "la moreneta" (brunette) have wanted to show solidarity with gay, lesbian and transsexual groups and make their love public. Because in the end the virgins, the "Endavant" and ours is love faced with the irrational hatred of Cañizares against everything that moves and smells of "gender dictatorship" as the Archbishop likes to call our right to be without more.
So the prelate, who by the way is already being investigated for a possible hate crime, has called a mass rosary as an injunction to the sacred images and later, during the celebration of a mass, has once again pronounced one of his controversies and incendiary homilies with statements such as: "There are ideologies that kill man, such as the gender ideology, that all figure in what you decide and there is no more, there is no nature and there is no body and there is no man and woman."
Not satisfied with the disqualifications, the cardinal archbishop has accused the "Endavant" group of desecration which, according to Cañizares "," deeply hurts the feelings of Catholics and of all men and women of good will. " It's funny how when he deigns to name women, he always does it second.
Perhaps what draws the most attention in Cañizares's rant is the fact that he speaks of intolerance and lack of respect for the beliefs of others ... and it is said by those who deny us the right to be and equality. No comment.
Valencia is going out today to the street under the motto "Against the sacred oppression, esteem com vulgues" (Against sacred oppression, love as you like) and will do so by celebrating for the first time "Orgull Festival" with 7 hours of celebration and music for everyone.
