GAYLES.TV | Two women denounced a man Thursday for having rebuked them in the 2 Metro Line Barcelona for his sexual orientation. The events happened on the 15: 30 hours of last Wednesday when EL, 32 years, and his partner LC, 28, took the metro in the station of Tetuán and inside the wagon a kiss occurred.

aggression-lesbians-metro-barcelonaAccording to the complaint filed by the women, a man put an arm between them to separate them, while he mocked and gestured them not to kiss.

The man told them in French that it was illegal to kiss, to which EL, one of them, has replied in English that what was illegal was the attitude he was adopting, who was accompanied by three other men. Given this, according to the complainant, the man "got worse and began to shout insults and threats" against the two women, while their friends laughed.

Several of the passengers of the subway came out in defense of the lesbian couple, who stated in their complaint that they felt «humiliated»By the attitude of the tourist, who continued to deny that they could kiss in public, and because of the laughter of their friends.

Upon reaching the Paralelo station, EL and LC got off and ran along the platform while they saw the man get off and followed them, until they found a security guard who detained the alleged homophobe and called the Mossos d 'Esquadra.

In their complaint, the couple stated that while they waited for the police to arrive, the man's attitude was "more intimidating and aggressive" to the point that they feared for his physical integrity.

When the patrol arrived, he identified the man and released him after not reporting any attacks or injuries although they have opened proceedings against the tourist for an alleged crime of hatred and discrimination.

Eugeni Rodríguez, president of the Observatory against Homophobia (OCH), has condemned the events and stated that "this is one more example that reveals the violence suffered by LGTBI people in their daily lives." He also congratulates "the quick action of the subway security agents and the mossos that have made it possible to identify the aggressors." When the OCH has learned of the complaint, it has contacted the Mossos d'Esquadra commanders with whom they are coordinating and they have also sent the complaint to the Department of the Interior, the General Directorate for Equality of the Generalitat and the LGTBI Department of the Barcelona City Council.
