Sade apologizes to her son Izaak through a very special new single after six years of musical silence
Singer sade adu, lead vocalist of the band Said, has released his first new song on six years away from music. The artist has titled this single «Young Lion", and is one of the four new songs that will be part of the compilation project created by the trans-inclusive organization Red Hot Organization, TRAИƧA.
Precisely «Young Lion» is a tribute to trans people. An emotional tribute to his son, Izaak Theo Adu, a trans man who has always spoken about his process and has openly thanked his mother for all the support she has given him in this delicate process.
In the song, you hear Said trying to put words to his son's feelings, to whom he apologizes. It's been so heavy for you / You must have felt so alone / The anguish and the pain / With such a heavy burden / Forgive me, son / I should have known".
Sade dedicates “Young lion” to her trans son
Izak He is the only son of Said, the result of her relationship with the reggae music producer Bob Morgan.
"My mother never tried to oppress the child I always silently knew I was. She always let me be myself."He explained Izaak Theo.
The compilation album containing the single is part of the artistic project that aims to celebrate transgender art. Inspired by the “art and presence” of the deceased SOPHIE, a pioneer of dance music in Scotland and that moved the collective LGTBIQ + after his tragic death in 2021; BRING will arrive on November 22nd from the hand of the non-profit organization Red Hot, based in NY.
Sharing the news of the track’s release on Instagram, Sade writes: “Trans people have always existed, under many different names throughout time and culture, often as healers and spiritual leaders.. "
"As global systems continue to fail humanity and all life on Earth, the journey that trans people – and all peoples who have been oppressed – have undertaken is a model of possibility. Hopefully, it is a glimpse of our collective liberation and the light that lies within us all.", ends.
