Martsinkevich is currently serving 5 years of sentence for "incitement to ethnic and social hatred" after being arrested in Cuba by Interpol and extradited to Russia.
The charges of his arrest were derived from the recording of a video made in Ukraine in which he humiliated and tortured a young Iraqi man until he was forced to confess his homosexuality, at the end of the video the torturer would raise a police baton and cover the camera target with a poster in which it could be read "without violence" while the harrowing screams of the young gay man were heard.
