The police repress a march for LGBT rights in Havana (Cuba)

GAYLES.TV.- Activists of the collective LGTB + and Security Agents of the State of Cuba they clashed this Saturday during an illegal demonstration in Havana convened after the annual gay pride march organized by the ruling party was canceled National Center for Sex Education (Cenesex), directed by Mariela Castro.

The clashes were precipitated as protesters ignored police warnings and tried to continue their way to the Malecón Pier

Finally several dozen protesters decided to sit down and "kiss" in the middle of the Paseo del Prado.

The collective LGTBI + has been gaining visibility in the last decade in Cuba, where in the first years after the triumph of the Revolution (1959) homosexuals were persecuted and sent to labor camps called Military Units of Support to Production (UMAP), which is considered one of the darkest chapters in the recent history of the island.
