Irene Montero: «trans people have been at the forefront of democratic gains in our country«
La Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, has ensured that the Trans and LGTBI Law -which was approved last June 27 in the Council of Ministers- «it will be law»before the end of this year 2022 and has defended that the group will not feel «never more» humiliated because there will be laws and institutions that recognize their rights.
This is how the minister spoke to the media at the parade of the pride 2022 which was held this Saturday in Madrid and in which he thanked «they, all and all» for being present at this protest act.
«We are a country proud of its diversity and of celebrating with hundreds of thousands of people the visibility of that diversity“, he claimed. Likewise, he wanted to send a message of hope to the collective LGTBIQ + and stressed that «never more" there will be "a country without them, without them and without them» and that all their mobilization and visibility will be protected by institutions and laws.
«All their push, all the times they have put the body, that they have felt humiliated, hurt... that will never happen again and there will be laws and institutions that are here to recognize all their rights. Therefore, that Trans and LGTBI Law before the end of this year will be law«, sentenced.
LGTBIQ+ historical memory
The head of Equality has defended the need for a law in Spain that recognizes historical memory, also for the community LGTBIQ +, and particularly for trans people «who have been at the forefront of the democratic achievements in our country«.
The demonstration serves to recognize «those who are no longer here, those who have been imprisoned, persecuted, humiliated, who have been denied a job, or the possibility of renting a home for being a trans person, for being a lesbian, for being bi«.
