transfeminism Machismo in "The Country" of wonders

EDITORIAL GAYLES.TV.-  This editorial aims to reflect on the prevailing machismo in many of the generalist media and we are not referring only to those who, due to their position to the right, result from a harsh that borders on ridicule, no. We speak of that form of subtle, assumed machismo, that which seems inevitable, that which we carry stuck to our skin like centuries of sweat, the rancid perspiration of generations of oppressed and ignored women.
El País
And this reflection comes from an article published in "The country" and signed by a woman, Cristina Vázquez and more specifically it is caused by a carpetovetónico highlighted in the text that has left us stone. Because, despite knowing that the editorial line of "El País" is no longer what it was, that little or nothing remains of that newspaper of Hurry that it became the guardian of democracy and the temple of freedoms; even witnessing the brain drain and the judgment of a newsroom that taught an entire generation to think. Despite all this, what a female journalist highlight the following sentence:

"At the age of six, María is clear that when she grows up she does not want, like her brothers, to be an astronaut, an inventor, or a superhero, but rather a girl"

Frankly, it causes us deep sadness, not to mention the disappointment that the signer is a woman and the medium supposedly progressive. The reason for mentioning this fragment here is that it is part of a text on minors and transsexuality, the headline reads: "Hope for transsexual children:" When I grow up I'll be called Maria. " We'll see. It is hard to believe that María with 6 years has expressed that thought, it is even more difficult to think that in the talk with the girl, she did not say anything more interesting to highlight and in any case, if so, what a great opportunity the journalist lost to take advantage of the occasion to remind Maria that be it a boy or a girl can be what you want, scientist, astronaut, super heroine and even journalist.

And here we are faced with another dilemma, that of the treatment that is being given to the issue of transsexual minors in the media at a time when society is especially sensitive to the issue and when it is so dangerous to resort to clichés that abound in stereotypes and the simplification of binary classifications, such as tearing one's clothes with maximalist positions that do nothing to bring a reality that is largely unknown to society. But that is already another matter.
