An image that would have been impossible to see until that moment, because until the previous year the veto of belonging to the Boy Scouts of America to young Gais had not been lifted.
Two years later we get the decision to abolish the ban on organization leaders being openly gay, a prohibition that had been in force during the 105 years of the organization's history. The executive committee approved a resolution to abolish the veto on the past 14 of July, but it had to be ratified by the national executive board, which did it after a telephone vote that, with a very high turnout, resulted in the 79% approving Remove the veto.
The current president of the organization, Robert Gates already hinted in May that the homosexual community could not continue to be excluded by stating that the rules in this respect "can not be sustained any more, they must conform to the world as it is and not as they would like that was".

Despite the limitations, it is a giant step in a historical entity that given its pedagogical and social nature, will mean a change of mentality in youth sectors of American society.
