Six months in prison and a fine of 1.080 euros for calling her neighbour a “fucking lesbian” and a “disgusting dyke”
The accused of a hate crime for belittling his neighbor with expressions like “lesbian fucking"And"disgusting dyke"has acknowledged the charges before the court of the Provincial Court of Salamanca. He has accepted a sentence of six months in prison, in addition to paying a fine of 1.080 euros and 600 euros in compensation to the affected party, as well as the costs of the proceedings.
The prosecutor does not oppose the suspension of the sentence, provided that the accused does not commit any offence within two years, pays the established amounts and completes an awareness course. The agreement also includes a four-year ban from working in educational, sporting and leisure professions, for the crime against moral integrity with the aggravating circumstance of discrimination.
The accused has a criminal record that cannot be counted for the purposes of recidivism. On Wednesday, she acknowledged the prosecutor's account, which details how these insults have been constant, especially during the Easter, summer and Christmas holidays, when the victim is at his family home, adjacent to that of the accused.
Hate crime in Salamanca
From July 2022 to August 2023, driven by her aversion to the victim's sexual orientation, the accused publicly insulted her neighbor. A notable episode occurred on July 30, 2022, when she shouted from her window: “You are a fucking lesbian, disgusting dyke, what you have to do is look for the father of your child, you don't know if he is black, Chinese or Moorish, your child is a bastard” while the victim was in her garden with relatives. The next day, he told her again: “Lesbian, go find your child's father”, in the presence of his three-year-old son.
The accused also insulted the victim's relatives, creating an unbearable and distressing environment for her. These constant humiliations and derogatory tone have seriously affected her personal dignity, preventing her from leading a normal life in the village.
