EDITORIAL.- Today we want to dedicate the space of our publishing house to a project that deals with Pride and historical memory. Because Pride with a capital letter is what we feel when presenting a work like this. «The memory of l'Orgull» is a documentary that tells us about the fight for LGTB rights in Catalonia from the Franco regime to the present day. But what is exciting is knowing that it is the end-of-cycle project of a group of students from the INS La Mercè de Barcelona. An impeccable product that has managed to rise with the well-deserved Best Documentary Award at the «Gala Mercè Doc 2015». Ten minutes in which the most recent history of the LGBT movement from the germ of the first demonstration called by the FAGC (Front d'Alliberament Gay de Catalunya) until the recent approval of the Law against homophobia and transphobia in the Parlament de Catalunya.
Astonishing the ability of synthesis, the sobriety of visual treatment and the journalistic rigor demonstrated by this group of students who have decided to talk about our history from the clean look of a generation that has not lived some things. And these are the things that we discover in the course of the interviews: the doorbells in the bars of lesbian, the aversive therapies with electroshocks, the orgy of 3 days that accompanied the death of the dictator, the murder of the transsexual Sonia or the emergence of the first group of lesbians thanks to the impulse of a single woman. It is incredible that all this and more fit in those 10 minutes and that is also so well narrated.
The three people interviewed are Eliseo Picó, former member of the FAGC, Eugeni Rodríguez of the Observatori contra l'homoofobia and Maria Giralt, director of Gayles.tv, which has collaborated with various institutions and individuals to make this production possible.
