The Valencian Strategy for LGTBI Equality 2022-2027 proposes 75 measures to end discrimination

La Valencian Strategy for LGTBI Equality 2022-2027 collects a total of 75 measures to move towards «a society that recognizes diversity and ends discrimination due to LGTBIphobia that people in this group continue to suffer«. The standard is structured in three strategic lines: recognition of institutions, rights and awareness of diversity.

La Vice President of the Consell and Minister of Equality and Inclusive Policies, Monica Oltra, has presented the strategy this Monday accompanied by the Vice President of the LGTBI Council, María Pérez, who has celebrated the development of laws that affect this group, because a law that is not developed and provided with resources is useless.

The strategy, which establishes the lines of action for the coming years of the Valencian Government in relation to the population LGTBI, will be approved this afternoon in the Consell Valencia LGTBI, after its elaboration through a participative process with more than 30 entities of the sector.

According to other, the Strategy aims to be a tool for «set the instruments and program the actions and measures» to comply with current legislation that guarantees the possibility of advance in the "real and effective equality of LGTBI people«.

Three lines, ten objectives and 75 measures

The first axis is recognition of the institutions to the LGTBI collective, where campaigns are contemplated to make sexual, family and gender diversity visible, and to continue reinforcing the town councils for the implementation of local LGTBI equality plans through the program contract. In the last two years, he has pointed out other, one million euros has been earmarked for this purpose and another million is planned over the next two years.

As a second line, the recognition of the rights of LGTBI people, with actions aimed at giving greater support to the group, especially to the trans people, in the social, health and educational fields, to promote their visibility in culture and sports and job placement in safe environments.

To this end, actions are contemplated for social and labor insertion, a coordination protocol for care services for LGTBI migrants and refugees, or attention to diversity in centers, services and social programs aimed at older people.

It will be scored as a merit in the calls for public aid that companies or entities have diversity plans or prevention measures against LGTBIphobia, and there will be a commitment to the training of health professionals in sexual and gender diversity and, especially, in the attention to trans people.

Another aspect of the Strategy is guarantee equal access to assisted reproduction techniques in public health, and offer training to teachers on LGTBI diversity and inclusion of the LGTBIphobia variable in the record of incidents of school settlement.

The third and last axis of the Strategy includes actions aimed at awareness of diversity, care for victims of LGTBIphobia and recognition of LGTBI memory.
