Likewise, the acquisition of nationality will be denied even if the bond is legalized.
This was the response of the Greek Parliament to the resolution of the European Court of Human Rightss that 2013 sanctioned Greece for the marginalization of homosexuals when it comes to collecting the pension of the deceased couple or to inherit their property even when these were common. On the other hand, there had been a considerable increase in homophobic aggression in recent years and it was necessary
to take a position officially.
The measure has triggered a furious reaction from the Orthodox Church that, through its ecclesiastical hierarchy, has described the initiative as "an attack on human laws and Christianity and aberration against nature" even going so far as to cross out gays in some cases as "monsters of nature." So they have organized an angry ringing of bells in all the churches to which gays and lesbians have responded with kisses in front of the temples.
However, for LGTBI activists, the measure is late and insufficient, but they acknowledge that it is a big step to make social a society that until today has lived hidden.
