The trial begins for the death and torture of the child Gabriel Fernández at the hands of his stepfather with the complicity of his mother

Because for a few days the headlines of this medium have echoed the horror, deaths, torture and abuse of all kinds. Texts that could be described as lurid if it weren't for the fact that, unfortunately, they only reflect a stubborn reality that urges us time and time again not to turn our heads and ignore it.
And today, to our regret, we bring here the ordeal and death of a child of 8 years at the hands of those who had to take care of their integrity, who should guide him on the path of life with love: his mother, Pearl Fernandez and his stepfather Isauro Aguirre. The reason it was not so is that they suspected he was gay, just like, THEY SUSPECTED THAT IT WAS GAY.
And Gabriel liked to play with dolls, look, often monster, maybe if he had kicked a ball would still live and his stepfather had not hit him, bitten, burned, shot with a blast gun, would not have forced him to eat cat feces with sand garnish. The testimony of both medical and police personnel who had access to the child's body are scary: the sheriff Beck I affirm that "His penis looked as if someone had tried to cut it." For its part, the criminalist Tiffanny Shew, who conducted the investigation in the home of the family of Gabrielito, had to analyze hundreds of bloodstains on the walls, so many that he ran out of paper used to mark them. Blood samples were also collected in a baseball bat, a wooden club and a cable with which he was whipped. Often he was locked in a closet and tied and gagged with a sock in his mouth so he could not scream, he was forced to do his needs on top. Alison Sega, the nurse who treated the child in the hospital Antelope Valley stated in court that "There were burns, open wounds, bruises, skin marks, missing skin on the upper neck, multiple injuries ... from head to toe".
All this horror does not respond to a moment of stubbornness, but according to the prosecutor Jon Hatami, "The defendants conspired together to deceive everyone so they could torture Gabriel to death." Two weeks before he died, he stopped attending school with the excuse that he was moving to live with a grandmother in Texas. But a teacher found a note inside the child's desk: "I love you mom and Gabriel is a good boy". Since leaving school until he died, he suffered torture for 13 days, but his hell began 8 months ago, when his mother claimed and obtained custody of the little boy who, until then had happily lived with his grandparents. The mother, who had had serious problems with drugs, was able to recover the baby after a brief stay in a rehabilitation center for drug addicts. That she lived with her supposed financial help from social entities and deduct taxes.
But at dusk 22 May 2013 Gabriel resisted collecting and storing his toys and his stepfather became angry, he became very angry, so much that he was knocking him with his fist closed until he lost count, later Aguirre would confess that he had given at least 20 blows in the body and 10 in the head, until it crashes the small one against a wall with so much force that it fractured the craneo.
In his defense the lawyer argues that both the mother and Aguirre would have declared that the child "He liked to hit himself, he was gay and he wanted to kill himself". But such an argument does not seem to be convincing the court that it will probably accept torture as an aggravating circumstance, which would mean capital punishment for Aguirre. The child's mother will be judged separately as well as four social workers from Los Angeles who are accused of negligence for having heard of the child's situation and not having acted accordingly.
We are aware that the testimonies that happen in the trial and that try to approach the horror that lived the poor creature are not for delicate stomachs, but we should not forget them, is the minimum that we owe to Gabriel. Rest in peace.
