«Young gay man: the image of the LGTBI collective in the media»
The presence and the informative treatment of the collective of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexuals and intersex (LGBTI) in the Catalan media.
Gayles.tv.- The report «Young gay man: the image of the LGTBI collective in the media» alert that the diversity of the collective is not present in the representation that it receives in the media. The 57% of the mentions are referred to gais (neglecting the rest of acronyms) and the elderly have an 0% representation.
The journalist and activist Vicent Canet, author of the report, warns that more than 50% of the information that focuses on the community have to do with discrimination, a fact that distorts the LGTBI reality.
