Correos pays tribute to Pasaje Begoña in Torremolinos with the launch of the first LGTB + stamp in Spain

GAYLES.TV.- For the first time in history, Post puts into circulation a stamp that commemorates the LGBT + Pride and one of the most important places in the collective's historical memory in our country: the Begoña Passage de Torremolinos. It will be a 40,9 x 28,8 mm phosphorescent self-adhesive with 25 effects printed on offset. The circulation will be 1.000.000 copies and its postal value of 1 euro. The expected issue date is next 15th June and it is to commemorate the International LGBTI Pride Day.

In the 60s, the Begoña Passage It became an absolute benchmark of freedom and respect for diversity. Around him, the first homosexual places in the country began to open, where tourists from all over the world came to enjoy their sexual orientation without fear.

In 2019 the Begoña Passage It was declared Place of Historical Memory and cradle of LGTBI Rights and Freedoms awarded by the Culture Commission of the Congress of Deputies. There the first lesbian bar in the country opened. It became an international benchmark LGTB + and sparked the interest of personalities like Sara Montiel, John Lennon, Ava Gardner, Marlon Brando, Grace Kelly or Elizabeth Taylor.
