Seven and a half months in prison for a woman who attacked her 13-year-old daughter in Mallorca for being a lesbian
A court in Palma has sentenced the woman to seven and a half months in prison. mother of a 13-year-old girl whom she beat, insulted and spat on when she found out she was a lesbian, The minor had posted an LGTBI flag on her Instagram account and when the woman saw it, she entered the room and attacked her.
The young woman had a relationship with a girl, something that bothered the mother, but the attacks occurred when the woman saw that the young woman made her sexuality public through social networks. She hit her daughter in various parts of her body, grabbed her hair and hurled insults at her, in addition to spitting on her. The mother insulted her daughter, blurting out phrases like: «To me you'll always be a bitch, you'll always be trash«.
When the daughter tried to speak calmly with her after her mother approached her, she was attacked again. She threw him a napkin ring and told him that for her «it's not worth spending on electricity«. Finally, as the girl turned her back on him to leave and run away, her mother spat on him, according to the indictment. The young woman had to receive medical help for her numerous blows and for a while she needed psychiatric and psychological assistance.

The complaint was filed after social services took charge of the minor, who became the guardian of the Institut Mallorquín d'Afers Socials. The judge sentenced the woman for a crime of injuries in the family, with the aggravating circumstance of homophobia.
The woman reached an agreement with the prosecutor and accepted the sentence of seven and a half months, a fine of 1.000 euros for moral damages and another 150 for assaults. The woman will not go to prison since the agreement stipulates that she is free from her as long as she does not attack and insult the minor again for three years.
