A research center where tests are carried out HIV detection was burned down by a group of homophobes.

The fire caused significant material damage, especially on the first floor of the structure, but the prompt intervention of firefighters prevented the fire from affecting the upper floors and adjoining buildings.
Since Checkpoint does not have any other location, activists and volunteers are forced to develop detection and prevention activities in a mobile unit to which they have moved while carrying out the tasks of debris removal and restoration.
Those responsible for Checkpoint responded to the attack with a text in which they condemn the attack and express their intention to continue with their activities: "The perpetrators of the attack did not simply try to burn down a building ... they tried to silence a strong voice that defends human rights and drowns out the humanitarian values and ideals that we defend" The statement issued by Positive Voice He also points out that they will not let themselves be overcome by fear and that "The rainbow flag will fly today in our structure as a political declaration that human rights do not succumb to any fascist extortion".
For their part, the authorities have initiated the relevant investigations to locate those responsible and, together with the ruling party, have described the attack as "a repulsive action against the entire Greek society.
