The 2016 Calendar of the team has been done by LeBeau Photo, a photographic project in which the author remains anonymous to give prominence to those portrayed. As they explain: “the objective of the photographs was to show real players in a very natural and beautiful way without any retouching or filters. In short, highlighting the natural beauty of the world of rugby ”. The work consists of a series of 13 suggestive black and white photographs that reflect different aspects of rugby, including the camaraderie, the joy of victory, the disappointment of defeat or even the pain of injuries. In them, a very heterogeneous selection of 18 players of different physiognomy appears, including boys, girls, gays and heterosexuals, in fact some of the couples who pose are in real life.
Like last year, the Titans will donate part of the proceeds from each sold calendar to an organization that fights for the collectiveLGTBI. This year, the money will go to Daniela Foundation, a non-profit foundation whose objective is to end the discrimination suffered by the group of transgender children and adolescents.
At present, the Daniela Foundation is carrying out a collection campaign of signatures in Change.org in order to present a popular initiative that proposes a Comprehensive State Law on Transsexuality in which transsexual boys, girls and adolescents have the recognition and protection they deserve.
Madrid Titanes was founded in 2013 and has more than 50 players of different age, sex, origin and sexual orientation. Its objective is to promote respect and companionship in an inclusive sports environment, openly fighting against homophobia and against prejudice based on sexual orientation. In the 2015/2016 season the Titans made their debut in the Regional League, specifically in the 5ª Category of the Madrileña Rugby Federation.
