Gal Costa has passed away at 77 years old in Sao Paulo. Costa is one of the greatest exponents of brazilian tropicalist movement, to which historical figures such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and Maria Bethania. Study on LGTBI seniors

From the Barcelona City Council and the Enllaç Foundation, together with an expert research team from the Department of Social Work of the University of Barcelona, have developed a 6o survey questions for people over 50 years LGTBI. The survey is designed so that these people can express their feelings, concerns, needs and problems, and thus be able to create programs and projects that help them not only on the road to old age but also to cope with their sexual condition in environments that are not always favorable. Here is the link to participate in the survey, both in Spanish and Catalan: www.fundacioenllac.cat/estudi

This survey came to light at the beginning of May and since then it has collected countless responses, impressions. But still not enough, the more answers more information to help this group so many times ignored. For this reason they expect the collaboration of everyone and collect the maximum responses before the end of June. Among all the participants a cruise for two people will be drawn which offers the business association for gays and lesbians ACEGAL.

At the beginning, this survey had been designed only for people from Barcelona Capital, but it was decided include more scope since it can provide more depth, and thus make this study and its results much more comprehensive and valid for create more definitive solutions tailored to the needs of older LGTBI people. In the Spanish state in 2009, Beatriz Gimeno prepared an important study, «Old age and sexual orientation«, Which has been an indispensable reference for drafting this survey, since this report is more of a state of the art that will confirm that the situation has not advanced or advanced little and propose solutions.

Initiatives like this survey have already been carried out in different countries such as Canada through "The Health and Social Service Needs of Gay and Lesbian Seniors and their Families in Canada", or as in the United States with "Aging in Equity", or in the UK with "Lesbian, gay and bisexual people in later life".

All of them have been of great help in solving problems and finding solutions for our LGTBI elders. Participate and put your bitwww.fundacioenllac.cat/estudi

Daniel Arzola is serious: «I have come out alive from many struggles»

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with the creator of «No Soy Tu Chiste»

GAYLES.TV.- «I do not do activism for activists or draw for cartoonists and I do not write poems for poets. I don't want jerked egos. Because I do not want to stay to live on only one side of the speech, in the comfort that I repeat that I say it is true. Because I don't want to walk on only one side of the sidewalk ». DANIEL ARZOLA (Venezuela, 1989)

What have you learned from the other side?
That maybe there are no absolutes, that nobody is completely something. I met macho women, racist blacks, and homophobic homosexuals. I learned that it is very easy to lose oneself in causes and end up being a victim transformed into an executioner. I wrote that text after intervening the MetroBus stops on Avenida 9 de Julio in Buenos Aires, a person attacked me for exhibiting with the sponsorship of a conservative government (From which I did not accept any other payment than to go to Buenos Aires to supervise my work). For me it was a victory, that is, that a conservative has to show my work and have to stand on our side because history forces him to, for me there is a victory in which someone who has had homophobic expressions in the past today wants to show what what I do, even if I am not sincere, because there is a message there, the story ends up putting things in their place. People who think differently from us should often be our target when it comes to communicating. And I believe in the power of communication. There are people who do not know how to argue, and who continue to repeat their speeches only on their side of the sidewalk. I am interested in sowing thoughts in minds that are opposed to mine, because hearing over and over again that I am right is very easy. I came to learn, I keep learning in the difference, because that's how I am.

DANIEL ARZOLA GAYLES.TV I'M NOT YOUR CHISTEWhy did you create the series «No Soy Tu Chiste»?
It was a rebellion against the great absence of justice in which I grew up. Venezuela is a very unfair place, where people laugh easily at your pain. I still have marks on the head of mockery, of the different. And there are thousands of people going through the same thing. But, my work has always been not to stay in that story, because it happened, I transformed everything into drawings and colors, into sentences, into poems and then I did Artivismo. My work started with a not so good story, that now had its first dose of justice, and it was a very big dose: Say what I feel and be heard. That others find a house in my history. To be able to shout in a universal language that is art, and to be heard.

You are a poet, cartoonist and activist. Does one side predominate over the others?
I think I do the only thing I know how to do, and that's what I recommend people to do. Everything is born with wondering what do I know how to do? And I do what I know. For me, poetry, or drawing, or my political positions (which is not the same to be a politician as to be a partisan) are born from the same nucleus: the need to say something, to show something, from dramatic action. For many years I was absent from drawing, because only words helped me to get these ideas out of my being. I think the series "No Soy Tu Chiste" is a mixture of everything I knew at the time. Art, advertising, graphic design, poetry, activism, all of that is in No Soy Tu Chiste.

You suffered bullying and a painful exit from the closet. How has it affected you?
I learned to fight when I was already fighting. When I tell some things that happened to me, many people can see this "victim" in those stories. I never felt like a victim, nor do I feel that way, I felt like I was a boy who had bad things happening to him, things that shouldn't happen. And I understand that one does not choose when to be the victim but we can choose when to stop being it. These processes left me with the conviction that I am a good adversary, since I have come out alive from many struggles.

How it all started?
It started in my room, my bed was a mattress on the floor, the roof of my house in Venezuela is still made of zinc, the country is getting more and more denurated, and shots were sometimes heard outside. But my ideas did not have enough space, when you grow up in a country like Venezuela to dream hurts you, and I dreamed a lot, I still do. I had a lot to say, I still have a lot to say. First it was people saying on Facebook that they wanted my work in English, then it was teaching artivism to activists from Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, the United States, Canada, Holland, Russia and India, then it was Madonna saying that she loved my work, then for the first time leave the country and get on a plane for the first time and see so many countries and be able to show my work there. And speaking bad English but communicating in Amsterdam and getting lost in New York… I think I still haven't processed everything, I'm working on it, but I try not to take anything for granted. I just try to learn and absorb everything I can to continue creating, I am very lucky, I have met unforgettable people.

DANIEL ARZOLA GAYLES.TV I'M NOT YOUR CHISTEHow do you choose the sentences of your illustrations?
They are phrases that I used at some point to defend myself. Some were in my poems. In fact when I started with this series I first wrote a poem: "I ask for the floor."

Do you think it is necessary to make sexual orientation visible?
I think it is a mistake that many of us make in thinking that we are all the same. I have a point when I say that we are all different. It is not the same to leave the closet in Uganda as to do it in Canada. It is not the same as a Venezuelan actress to say that she is a lesbian (because no other woman had said it) that someone in Hollywood does. A kiss can be a gesture of affection or it can be a political act, everything depends on where you are. I think so, it's still necessary.

How has your sexual orientation influenced your work?
I only tell what I live, what I feel, through my work. When you are homosexual, Latino, aspie, immigrant and agnostic you will make someone annoy (how many labels), and I believe from conflicts that I was part of without wanting to be, that is, we do not always have problems with someone who has a problem with us . I create things from my story, and that's it.

DANIEL ARZOLA GAYLES.TV HIVVA LA VIDAWhat do you consider to be more urgent when it comes to the LGBT + collective?
Let them stop you from killing or imprisoning you for it. Its the first.

Tell us about your other project "HIVva la vida, the H is for Human."
There are a billion HIV prevention campaigns. It is clear, nobody wants to have the virus. But every day more people become infected. I interviewed some 30 people and I asked them about that moment, in which they received the news, and I wanted to compare it with how they feel now. I thought: There are many prevention campaigns but I never saw a work dedicated to people living with the virus.

What are your future projects?
I want to fulfill my dream of exposing in New York, I want to write a book about my theory of artivism, I have many ideas now that I have returned from a trip that included four cities in two weeks in the United States. The debt of publishing a book is something I really want to pay off. But above all I want to live!

Who cares?

A choral version of "Who Cares?" produced by Shangay viralizes social networks and becomes the authentic anthem of WorldPride

GAYLES.TV.- Our collective is a huge world if we think about the millions of people who identify themselves with the acronyms LGTBI, but at the same time it is a small world if we take into account the companies that are dedicated to cover information about our collective. And we do not like to speak in terms of competence, but rather of collaboration, because in the end we share a common goal: to contribute to the visibility and improvement of the living conditions of all LGTBI people on the planet.

One of the oldest and most known is Shangay to which, at the beginning of our journey, we dedicated a report just when they had completed 20 years of experience. If you have not had occasion to see it, you can follow the link "20 years with Shangay" and recover it. But that is not the reason for this article but the fact of wanting to congratulate very sincerely to all the editorial staff of Shangay for the production of a video that in just a week has already become viral.

On the occasion of the World Pride 2017 in Madrid They asked 70 characters from different social backgrounds, from the world of theater, cinema, television, sports or cooking, to recite fragments of the mythical song that Alaska and Dinarama recorded in 1986: "Who cares?"And that ended up becoming a hymn for the collective.

The result is really emotional, more than that, it is a true song of life and diversity that these days is celebrated in Madrid and the most curious thing is that the initiative was launched when we still did not know that a version of " Who cares? "Was going to be the anthem of this Pride, of this Pride that will surely go down in history as one of the most intense and multitudinous that we have ever lived.

So we leave you with this piece of video and we recommend you visit the website of Shangay because they deserve it. Our most sincere congratulations chic @ s !!!

Gay travel destinations yes, no tongo

We are in the middle of summer and the summer comes with the summer. The offers for the LGTBI collective, hotels, stays, cruises, gay friendly businesses and, of course, the well-known claim of the "gay tourist destinations" are multiplying.

This is all very well, although there are those who question it with the argument that we should tend towards integration and avoid the creation of ghettos. The day that really we can express ourselves with total freedom in any environment without fear of being rejected, reprimanded or even assaulted, that day we may not need specific environments. The end of homophobia will be the end of the ghettos.

In any case there are historical and indisputably gay destinations: Ibiza, San Francisco, Sitges, Mikonos, etc ... And there are those who have decided to declare themselves gay friendly cities simply because that attracts a large tourism and that brings considerable economic benefits. Well, what is intolerable is that they advertise themselves as gay destinations cities where their own leaders hold homophobic positions.

When will the creation of a gay friendly quality stamp for municipalities? We must demand minimum (or maximum) of respect, tolerance and services for the LGTBI community in those places that are proposed as specific tourist destinations. It is not going to be that in the end the only acceptable thing is our currencies.

WHO warns that 12 million people with HIV are not receiving treatment

Coronavirus pandemic affects detection of new HIV cases

GAYLES.TV.- This December 1, World AIDS Day, World Health Organization (WHO) warns that 12 million of people in the world with HIV do not receive treatment, jeopardizing the goal of ending AIDS as a public health threat 2030. After decades of research, no vaccine has yet been found for the great pandemic of the late XNUMXth century.

En Spain there is more of 150.000 people with the HIV. Every year they are diagnosed 3.500 new infections due to the AIDS virus in Spain. The coronavirus effect may cause this figure to grow in the coming months. According to the latest report from National Center for Epidemiology of the Carlos III Institute, 13% of infected people do not know they are.

WHO warns that 12 million people with HIV are not receiving treatmentIn rich countries it has gone from being a fatal disease to a controllable chronic infection. This paradigm shift is due to the expansion of antiretroviral treatments, which allow those infected to have an undetectable viral load and, therefore, cannot transmit the disease.

The negative impact that the COVID-19 it could cause between 69.000 and 148.000 additional deaths in the world between this year and next. A survey of 127 countries in early 2020 found that a quarter partially discontinued antiretroviral treatment. The CEO of the WHO, Tedros Adhanom. has warned that «this risk has been compounded by interruptions in treatment«.

The positive data is that the objective of UNAIDS by 2020: that 90% of people infected with HIV know it, that 90% of these are in treatment and that 90% of the latter have undetectable viral load. The new challenge for the year 2030 is that these three objectives reach 95% and work is also being done to define and achieve a fourth objective, which would have to do with the fact that people with HIV + have a good quality of life.

Abascal swallows gay ghost in Congress

Two socialist deputies, Felipe Sicilia and Arnau Ramírez have appeared in Congress wearing shirts with the famous "gaysper" in front of the bench of VOX

GAYLES.TV.- What has happened today in the Congress of Deputies (one of the many things that have happened but that would not be analyzed on this website) is that Abascal he had to swallow his ghost LGTBI, yes, that of the meme that we questioned in the article "We are still here and giving cane".

In front of his hosts Abascal has dawn to be able to occupy the rear benches Pedro Sánchez without thinking that that made them the target of all the moves. And one of them has been the protagonist Felipe Sicilia and Arnau Ramírez, deputies of the PSOE and PSC respectively, who have seen fit to appear in Congress wearing shirts that looked "Gaysper" stamped on the chest. And it is already known that who sows winds gathers storms.

the gay ghost in Congress

On his Twitter account Felipe Sicilia wrote: "Their attacks do not weaken us, they reinforce us ... More proud than ever to defend the rights of everyone". The PSOE itself has made an allegation in their networks sharing the photograph: "We are going to defend diversity in front of those who want a country that backs 40 years in rights and freedoms".

Summing up that VOX is not going to have it easy in its intention to make us disappear from the map, we are squid with a lot of ink and a lot of guasa so that they come to touch us what does not sound. With humor and without acrimony but not a step back.

Spain, the most gayfriendly country of 2014

Indeed, Spain has been declared the most gay friendly country of between 40 countries analyzed this 2014 by the Pew Research Center's Global Attitudes Project. But it is not the first time that we are honored with a similar title, already in 2013 based on other questions and methods, we receive a similar joy.

But let's focus on the results of this latest study. Spain was assessed not only about homosexuality but also about other moral issues such as abortion, infidelity, divorce, sex before marriage, alcohol consumption, contraceptives etc. Along with Spain, countries such as Germany, France, Italy, Argentina, Chile, Canada, the United States, Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom or the Czech Republic were evaluated. As can be seen, the sample is sufficiently varied to be able to conclude that Spain is one of the most open countries to all sexual tendencies these days.

Un 55% answered that homosexuality is morally accepted compared to only 6% who answered that this fact was morally unacceptable. 38% answered that homosexuality has nothing to do with morality. Spain was closely followed by the Czech Republic, where 56% believed that homosexuality was morally acceptable but it was 14% who answered that homosexuality was morally unacceptable that made it lose leadership against Spain.

Surprising were the results, some positive and others negative, achieved in the United States and Japan. In Japan even being a very conservative society and culture, a 38% answered that homosexuality was morally acceptable, in front of a 25% that answered that it was not a moral question. With these results we can see a changing trend in the country of the rising sun. Even so it presents a high 31% believes that homosexuality is morally unacceptable. The Americans continue in their line of extreme conservatism where a high 37% believes homosexuality is morally unacceptable, but little by little it is being equated to those who believe that homosexuality has nothing to do with morality.

These results only encourage us as a country to continue working to achieve a freer, egalitarian society that embraces differences and nurtures them. As a collective, we have to keep fighting for these numbers one day (hopefully next) are not necessary, because it will mean that there will be no differences and that it will not be necessary to ask about these issues, simply people will be free and everything will be seen as normal and natural.

Spain falls back to eleventh place in the European ranking of LGTBI rights

Spain goes from second to eleventh place in the European ranking of LGTBIQ+ rights in a decade

Spain is in 11th place in the annual Rainbow Europe ranking carried out by ILGA-Europe on the legal and political situation of LGTBI people in 49 European countries. He has dropped four points in the standings in one year —in 2020 and 2021 it was in sixth place— and nine in eleven years —in 2011 in second place—.

The own ILGA-Europe He lamented in his statement that «se is slowing down the progress of collective rights in Spanish territory«, following the «downward trend that has been happening in previous years«.

La FELGTBI+, which has collaborated in the preparation of this report, considers this data to be particularly serious if one takes into account that «Spain has always been a benchmark in LGTBI + rights«. “This implies a wake-up call to continue taking steps forward and not stagnate in past revenues,” they add in a statement.

Points to improve

Spain falls back to eleventh place in the European ranking of LGTBI rightsAs stated in the report, some of the criteria that lower Spain's score are the non-recognition of non-binary people and self-determination, as well as the requirement of a diagnosis of gender identity disorder and mandatory medical intervention. for trans people

The approval of the Trans and LGTBI State Law is considered key for Spain to move forward again.

Among the needs for improvement is the prohibition at the state level of conversion therapies and the implementation of public policies on asylum that contain express mention of all express reasons for all reasons (sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, sexual characteristics ). In addition to the legislative inequality between territories.

For these faults, the approval of the Trans and LGTBI state law is considered key.

Malta repeats in first position

Malta leads the ranking again. Denmark has risen seven points in one year due to its new legislation and they highlight Iceland for its legislative recognition of trans parenthood, among other things, Germany for banning intersex genital mutilation or France for prohibiting in the last year the calls «conversion therapies«.

After years of stagnation there has been a positive legislative movement in Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia that call into question the narrative that there is an east/west divide on LGBTI rights in Europe.

Olympic visibility and cabinets in the snow

13 are the openly LGTBI athletes competing in the Winter Olympics, 6 more than those held in Sochi 4 years ago

GAYLES.TV.- Although it is true that the number of participants in the Winter Olympics who have openly acknowledged their homosexuality has doubled compared to the appointment of Sochi 4 years ago, it is no less true that the figure in total percentages remains frankly ridiculous. If the global number is of 2.952 registered athletes, that 13 have come out of the closet It is a scandalous 0'4%, that is, a small one. If we apply the usual theory that, at least, the 10% of the population would fit in the LGTBI denomination, we should be talking about some 300 people. But, finally, slowly and good handwriting would not be the case that all of them came out suddenly and some of them would freeze their rictus and not cold precisely.

In any case, it is worth reflecting on the subject, because a first look at the list of the brave is surprising from the outset by the overwhelming presence of women, 9 out of 13! At least curious if we think about the low visibility of lesbians in other areas. In politics, culture or business just to name a few, we have too many fingers of the hand when we look for lesbians out of the closet… under suspicion a few, but publicly assumed few.

Šárka Pančochová

However in the world of sports it seems that the tables are turned. From the historical Martina Navratilova in tennis there have been many women who have taken on their lesbianism in public in different sports disciplines:  Sheryl Swoopes in basketball, the pair of the Norwegian handball team formed by Gro Hammerseng and Katja Nyberg  and let's not say in the world of women's football where in the 2015 Worlds it was nothing less than 14 that were recognized as lesbian or bisexual. While in men's soccer the only thing that comes out of the closet are poorly understood testosterone carts, fear of public lynching, denial and posturing.

Another fact that draws attention is the fact that the visibility is facilitated by the fact that the sports discipline in question is not team. In Pyeongchang, of the 4 men who have been recognized as gay, 3 participate in the figure skating modality and the fourth, the mediatic Gus Kenworthy, famous for his nudes in the snow (indispensable visit to his Instagram account), participates in freestyle skiing. Presumably, the changing rooms shared with the environment and the smell of a companion do not help to come out of the closet, not to mention the homophobic crowd that, unfortunately, continues to fill the stands of many stadiums. In fact, the same situation also occurs in this case among women, only one of them, Emilia Ramboldt, practice a team sport, ice hockey.

This week we celebrate the International Day against Homophobia in Sport, it would be important to make a collective reflection on the reasons that encyst homophobic behaviors in stadiums. What ancestral topics keep our athletes in love with the closet? And above all the most important thing: What can we do to reverse this situation.

Alphabet soup

The use of acronym It has defenders and detractors. Some believe it confuses the less informed and others who play a role policy and integration. The use of the term has now been extended LGTB to refer to individuals of a non-heterosexual orientation, specifically lesbians, gays, transsexuals and bisexuals. Its progressive implementation has also been a source of controversy, to some they seem too politically correct for trying to accommodate options that have not always exactly gone hand in hand, but there are also those who feel excluded.

Several attempts have been made to expand the number of letters. The first one was with the Q of "Queer" which was intended to encompass all those who did not feel identified, then came the 3 T of transsexual , transgender and transvestite, the P of pansexual y polyamorousthe A of strategic heterosexuals and the O of omnisexuals. In short, an authentic soup of letters that threatens to turn the term into something so unpronounceable as unacceptable by the people represented.

Some LGTB media have chosen to include the I that refers to people intersex. The recent recognition of intersexuality as a gender option in the case of Australia and the debate that has originated in other countries, endorses this option that from Gayles.tv we support. From now on we will adopt the aforementioned term LGTBI to refer to the set of non-heterosexual groups, hoping to contribute to the greater knowledge and acceptance of all options.

Change gender by playing "Rust"

GAYLES.TV.-  "Rust" is a popular survival game that includes the online gaming platform "Steam" that has incorporated among its characteristics the possibility that, in a random way, the male character of a player can become a woman. Until now the traits of the characters or game avatars such as hair color, eye color or even penis size, were also determined randomly and that was not a problem, but the introduction of gender change has triggered a disproportionate reaction in many users.

GAYLES.TV RUST GIRLThe developers of "Rust", Garry Newman and Taylor Reynolds, they already foresaw that innovation could raise blisters and even more so if we consider that 95% of regular users of “Steam” are men: «We understand that it is a sensitive issue for many. We understand that perhaps now you will have a sex with which you do not identify in real life and that this may cause you discomfort and that you do not want to continue playing »they point out, but “Technically nothing has changed, since half the population already felt that way before. The only difference is that now your Steam ID, and not your sex in real life, determines if you should feel this way. "

Judging by the comments of the users in the forum on this topic, to say that it is “a sensitive topic” is an understatement, in fact the moderators had to delete dozens of offensive comments, insults, threats and all kinds of mockery of character misogynist. Users who complain about seeing their gender changed avatar are portrayed in their comments. Here we have collected some:

  • Please add gender change I can't stand it, please ... add gender change ...
  • Dear Rust, I am very unhappy with this new update. I want to change the sex of my character to male and I can not. Please let me change gender because I do not want to be A WOMAN BIT for the rest of my life in Rust.
  • To be realistic, why stop here? I want my character to have the rule every month and to suffer an unstoppable hemorrhage of 1 percent for a week.

Newman, one of its creators, argues that "It is as rare to hear a woman speak with a man's voice as it is to hear an 8-year-old boy speak through his adult avatar." But, judging by the answers of some player, the explanation does not seem to have managed to calm the spirits: “The argument collapses under its own weight if you see where I and the others come from. If I put Rust and my character is a woman, you will have lost a player and his circle of friends who also play it ”. But the numbers of users maintained by the platform and the game do not seem to support these threats.

The question would be to ask ourselves why so many men find so unassuming a female avatar in a game that is still a fantasy?

The fight of a 100-year-old woman against the censorship of LGTBIQ+ books in Florida

The fight of a 100-year-old woman against LGTBI book censorship in Florida: "It's what the Nazis did"

Grace Linn, a 100-year-old female widow of a veteran who died during the World War II, has compared the regulations of Ron De Santis with the Nazi book burning. linn attended the meeting of Martin County School Board to protest against this new regulation in Florida that censors gender discourse and critical race theory in the classroom.

"I am 100 years old and I taught some computer skills to the older students in a high school", Points out City in a speech in which he criticized the policy of banning DeSantis. "My husband, Robert Nichols, was killed in World War II at just 26 years old, defending our democracy, constitution and freedoms. One of the freedoms that the Nazis massacred was to read books, which they banned and burned.".

receding freedom

The fight of a 100-year-old woman against the censorship of LGTBIQ+ books in Florida"The freedom to read, which is protected by the First Amendment, is an essential right and duty of our democracy. However, it is being attacked by public and private groups who think they have the truth. In response to this, last year I made this quilt”, Linn pointed out while a man showed the cloth sewn with different book titles. “I have made it to remind all of us that these few of the many books that are being banned have to be protected and read by whoever chooses.”. The quilt, the woman explained, appeared on national television as part of a campaign against the book ban.

"Burning books and banning books is the same. Both things are done for the same reason: fear of knowledge. Fear is not freedom, it is control. My husband died as the father of freedom. I am a mother of freedom. Banned books should be proudly displayed and protected from school boards like this”, He said.

Fines up to $5.000

Under the law that censors books, all school materials must be authorized in advance by a “expert”. Otherwise, teachers who break the law could face fines of up to U.S. dollar 5.000 or even jail terms of up to five years. Since it was approved, several classrooms have emptied their shelves, as can be seen in some publications that parents and teachers have shared on social networks.

the republican governor Ron De Santis is establishing itself as an institutional champion of the American neoconservatism. This kind of parental pin that censors certain titles in schools is part of a series of laws that violate the rights of minorities. Some measures against what he and the groups conservative and ultra-catholic call the thought Woke (which could be translated as 'progress'). DeSantis It also proposes further restrictions on abortion, attacks on freedom of the press or permission to carry weapons without licenses. He has not yet announced his candidacy for the 2024 Republican primary, but it is an open secret that could overshadow Donald Trump.

The TS prohibits re-exercising the judge who hindered the adoption of a lesbian couple

After serving a 10-year disqualification for prevarication, the Murcia Supreme Court and the Prosecutor's Office opposed his re-entry due to his "authentic homophobic compulsion"

GAYLES.TV.- In 2009 the judge Fernando Ferrín Calamita was convicted by the Supreme Court to ten years of special disqualification for the position of judge or magistrate for a crime of willful prevarication: he delayed the procedures for the adoption of a minor by the wife of the girl's biological mother. Now the Superior Court of Justice of the Region of Murcia and the Prosecutor's Office oppose his re-entry for «his authentic homophobic compulsion«.

The TS forbids re-exerting the judge Fernando Ferrín Calamita who refused to allow a lesbian to adopt his partner's daughterThe court considers that the entity of the crime of willful trespass of the article 446 of the Penal Code –For which the appellant was convicted- «It seems hardly compatible with the idea of rehabilitation, given the seriousness of the crime, the damage caused by the public service to justice and the direct relationship with the performance of the position.«.

The sentence reminds that the crime of prevarication is one of the most serious that a member of the judicial career can commit as soon as the essence of the Judiciary breaks down and the behavior minimally demanded of the one who embodies it.

The Third Chamber of the Supreme Court denied the rehabilitation to the judicial career of Fernando Ferrín Calamita, who was sentenced in 2009 by the Supreme Court to ten years of special disqualification for the office of judge or magistrate for a crime of willful trespass.

It hampered the adoption of a lesbian couple

The appellant, who was a judge of the Family of Murcia, delayed the adoption proceedings of a minor by the wife of the biological mother of the girl. The high court considered then that the action of the judge constituted a crime of prevarication, and raised the sentence to ten years of disqualification and pay a fine of 620 euros, as well as to compensate the injured with 6.000 euros and face the costs of the trial.

Israel, the LGTBI paradox

The complex reality of LGTBI people in Israel beyond the controversy of Pinkwashing

GAYLES.TV.- The current situation that, in the political-military sphere, faces Israel with Palestine it has triggered criticism of its LGTBI policies throughout the West. Especially in the European left parties and in the activist groups for the rights of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transsexuals. They accuse the Israeli government of practicing what it has come to be called PINKWASHING, that is to say, to wash the bad image generated because of the confrontation with Palestine abounding in the propaganda related to the advanced policies of protection to the collective LGTBI. More recently with special emphasis on the massive celebration of PRIDE in Tel Aviv. For inverse reasons some political groups close to the right defend at all costs the policies of the State of Israel appropriating a speech and arguments that do not belong to them because they are the result of years of struggle of the groups of Israeli LGTBI activists.

I do not know how to justify here the policies of the Israeli executive in relation to the occupied territories, but we do believe that it is unfair not to take into account the people who are part of the collective in that country and who do not always share the policies of their rulers. . It is important to separate the grain from the straw, because by boycotting the PRIDE or Eurovision or any other event that relates Israel / LGTBI, we are negating, marginalizing and harming those who work from within to improve the living conditions of LGTBI people.

That is why it is important to dialogue with these people and provide here the objective data they have given us about the real situation that, in many cases, exceeds that of Western countries that criticize them. The first very clear argument that we already address in the article "Tel Aviv, the dazzling PRIDE" that you can recover here, is that it is somewhat hypocritical to criticize the situation of LGTBI policies in Israel without taking into account in what situation the affected people live in the rest of the countries of the Middle East. For many Israel and very specifically Tel Aviv, it is a refuge, perhaps not paradise, but a space of freedom where they are not persecuted and must not renounce their identity.

Of shows a button: Barcelona has just inaugurated, specifically on January 19 of this year, the first LGTBI Center destined to cover diverse needs of the group. Well, the  LGBTQ CENTER Tel Aviv has just celebrated its tenth anniversary in a headquarters that has gardens, terraces, meeting rooms, nursery space for creatures, etc, etc .... And that supports health, education, family, work and any other level to people of all ages, creeds and backgrounds.

Pride Tel Aviv 2019 Israel

There exist, both at the governmental and associative level, groups destined to guide and inform about everything related to the problem that supposes for many people to reconcile their beliefs with their sexual orientation or with their gender identity and that support is offered regardless of whether one is a Jew, a Muslim or a Christian.

Special mention deserves the educational activities in schools, especially in the secondary stage aimed at promoting coexistence, respect for diversity and integration. A work that seeks to work with the youngest to sow the seeds of a future of coexistence without discrimination. This type of talks and work also take place in companies throughout the country, seeking to avoid any type of discriminatory situation in the workplace.

In an institution as highly valued in Israel as the army, sexual orientation does not pose any type of problem to take part, but the condition of transgender person is not an inconvenience to join the armed forces.

Precisely attention to transgender people from public health is one of the most advanced on the planet. At Ichilov Weizman Hospital We were able to visit the Center for Transgender People's Medicine and Health and seek the opinion not only of medical specialists but also of patients. A court composed exclusively of professionals evaluates the treatment and follow-up in transit at the surgical, hormonal, psychological or aesthetic level as well as in the family, social and professional environment. Follow-up that covers long periods until the person is perfectly integrated and placed in his new facet.

Pride Tel Aviv 2019 Israel

Obviously, everything that glitters is not gold. Much remains to be achieved, much to achieve. Equal marriage does not seem possible in the short term and one of the main reasons is the fact that marriages are religious in nature and consequently are not accepted for people of the same sex, but a form of legal union or civil association is currently pending approval. Likewise, marriages celebrated in other countries are recognized even if rights are not equal. There are also limitations on issues related to adoption and parenting. And one thing is clear, the improvements have come through legislation, not through government decisions. Complaint by complaint, complaint by complaint, we have managed to advance our rights. Nobody has given anything away and in fact activism recognizes that the LGTBI issue is not a priority for Parliament and is always postponed.

We do not claim that Israel is an Eden for gays, lesbians or transsexuals, but one thing is certain, that the 80% of the population supports homosexual marriage or understand that it is not fair to have all the duties but not all the rights, it is the result of the silent and constant struggle of associations and groups that expect our support from abroad, not to be boycotted by those who should show solidarity with their work.

It's not Thora. It's not Lady Thor, it's not Thorita. It's THOR.

MARVEL BECOMES THOR IN WOMEN

The stocky, masculine, bearded god of lightning, hammer in hand, first appeared on a Marvel adventure at 1962.

He has also starred in two blockbuster movies, starring Chris Hemsworth. But his only special ability, until now, was to hold the Mjölnir hammer.

"The inscription on the hammer of says 'Whoever holds this hammer, if HE is worthy, will possess the power of Thor'; it's time to update that entry, "says editor Wil Moss, on the official Marvel site.

According to legend in Norse mythology, Anyone who holds the hammer can be Thor. With this premise Marvel approaches the world of comics and adventures to the female audience, women and girls.

The classic Thor is no longer able to hold the powerful Mjölnir hammer, so a new heroine emerges, worthy of the name of Thor.

This is the most shocking change that has produced Marvel, as it affects one of the three most followed and read icons of all times: Captain America, Iron Man and Thor.

Writer Jason Aaron emphasizes, “It's not Thora. It is not Lady Thor, it is not Thorita. It's THOR. She is the Thor of the Marvel Universe. But he doesn't look like any Thor we've ever seen before.

As announced by writer Jason Aaron, Thor will not be a female version of another dimension, it will simply be Thor, the Goddess of Thunder.

Facebook prepares for Pride Day

We enter fully into the month of June, which means sun, beach and ¡the month of Pride! The team of Facebook it has been wanted to add to the celebrations and has inaugurated with the arrival of the month of the Pride par excellence a new collection of 28 stickers LGTBI (stickers) free for your chat. Designed by artist Cathy Lo, these stickers have been released this week, but will remain available indefinitely.

The social network continues to be positioned in favor of and in support of the LGTBI community. We remember the changes of February, when Facebook USA expanded to 50 the gender choice options. In addition, Zuckerberg and Facebook's own offices in Menlo Park (California) have participated in the celebrations of the Pride of San Francisco.

In his line of stickers for the Pride there is room for everyone, under the title "Love is universal": families of homosexual mothers, couples in the pride float, marriages between men, between women, older LGTBI people, sailors, rainbows, etc. These stickers really show a quite wide universe of characters.

You already have them? You just have to click the smiley face button in the Facebook chat and select the "Pride" set in the Sticker Shop. Now more than ever, share the love on Facebook!
