Spain, the most gayfriendly country of 2014

Drako, homosexual gender violence
Drako, the feature film by the Galician director Francisco Brives, is again projected thanks to the great acceptance he has had in his presentation at the conference against domestic violence promoted by the Campus Stellae in Galicia. Released in October of 2013, it was shot in Galicia, Madrid, Paris and Berlin and starring the Galician actors Rubén de Marina, Brives himself and other emerging actors such as Alfredo Meixide. Drako narrates a sick love, In which the emotional kidnapping and dominative violence are the consonant notes. The tension of the film increases when giving several cases of strange murders, giving the tape a touch thriller that makes it even more surprising and interesting. With a minimum budget, the second feature of Brives got 14 nominations to the Goya 2014.
The film deals with the theme of gender violence from a new perspective. This is a social scourge that concerns us all and goes beyond the physical or psychological violence of a man to a woman, or the opposite of a woman towards a man. This premise is demonstrated by Brives through an exhaustive study, a reality often ignored by the media and society: the violence within same-sex couples. It is a fact that is not contemplated and is as real as the gender / feminist violence of gender.
Within the talks and lectures that the Campus Stellae carries out, the film has been tested by the professionals of the Abused Centers and Associations and there has been a total confirmation that the film collects, in a raw but real way, a reality that unfortunately does not escape gender identity or sexual orientation of the victims.
The main purpose of the director with this tape is to make the phenomenon known to professionals, make them aware of its existence and that it is a daily job to end this problem. It's not just a one-day job for the photo or putting it on an election show and doing nothing about it afterward. It is a constant struggle of all and all.
