The Consells Nacionals de Catalunya de Joventut, Gent Gran, Dones and LGBTI and ECAS celebrate the approval unanimously of the law, with 112 votes in favor and none against or abstention.

La Llei d'Igualtat de Tracte i No Discriminació aims to make effective the right to equal treatment and non-discrimination based on religion or belief, ability, disability, age, racial or ethnic origin, sex or orientation and sexual and gender identity, gender expression, or by other social or personal condition.

Likewise, it aims to promote the eradication of racism, and of any form of persecution for religious reasons, of xenophobia, of LGBTIphobia, and any other expression that violates the equality and dignity of people. aims to guarantee coexistence and social cohesion through the recognition of the dignity of the person and the free development of the personality.
