A couple of boys was attacked by two men during the procession of the Nazarene last Monday as he passed through the neighborhood of San Francisco Bilbao. The Municipal Police have arrested the aggressors reported for threats and insults, aggravated by hate crime, as confirmed by sources from the Bilbao City Council.
The asociación Bilbao Bizkaia HARRO, dedicated to recognizing and spreading the struggle of the movement LGTBIQ +, has issued a statement in which it expresses its firm and resounding condemnation of the aggression suffered by the couple and states "at the disposal of the person attacked all the resources at our disposal that may need help, support and accompaniment in this situation«.

In addition, it asks the institutions to pronounce themselves on what happened. «This is a matter of human rights and there is no other position. In the face of aggression, silence is not worth it. We ask that they promote, together with the associations, mobilization protocols in cases of LGBTIphobia while reinforcing policies aimed at prevention and action in the face of aggressions«.
Finally, the association urges the prosecutor's office "to act in the face of this aggression, which is a clear hate crime based on sexual orientation."
