NEWS.- A new case of Fraudulent therapy for supposedly "curing homosexuality", has come to light. But in this case, with the aggravating circumstance that, not only has it served to profit the fraudsters, but it also meant subjecting those treated by "therapists" to sexual abuse.
The case, which has been publicly denounced by Jeff White, a young American neighbor of the town of Walls, in Mississippi with the support of an organization fighting for LGTBI rights, goes back to 1996. At that time Jeff decided to come out of the closet before his family and they went to seek advice from a priest in his town. The parish priest recommended that they go to a religious association that operated in the region and that the young man undergo therapy there.
What the boy was subjected to for three years is repeated and brutal violations. The abusers alleged that they did so abruptly so that the pain and fear that they provoked would dissuade them from having anal sex and any kind of relationship with other men.
In a statement about the reason that has led him to denounce these events after 15 years, White has stated that “I have grown older and I have witnessed many other cases that are being harmed by the church and by attempts to change the homosexuality through brutal tactics, such as those used against me. Y I have realized that I must raise my voice against those who have hurt me".
Once again, together with international medical organizations, We denounce the physical damage and the psychological consequences that the "therapies to cure homosexuality" leave in those affected. And we encourage anyone who has knowledge of these practices to report them to the authority and public opinion.
