365 Days Against Homophobia and Transphobia

This Saturday, May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia. The date commemorates the disappearance of homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses of the World Health Organization 17 May of 1990. As regards transsexuality, it continues to appear in the manuals of qualified psychiatry as a "sexual identity disorder".

Around 80 countries in the world condemn any non-heterosexual tendency with prison sentences and even with the death penalty. This data justifies, on its own, the fact that every day of the year are days to fight for the right of people to live their own orientation in freedom.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta when invited to participate in a demonstration against the Iraq war, gently declined the offer. Surprised, they asked him why and he replied that he preferred to participate in any action in favor. In favor of peace, in favor of reconciliation and the end of any form of oppression.

Let's work 365 days a year affirming our right to love and desire without rules nor labels to not have to devote a day to fight against any kind of homophobia or transphobia.
